Why the Bondi 9 Fits the Way It Does
The Bondi 9 uses an engineered knit upper — it has more stretch and give than the mesh uppers on older Bondi models, which means it accommodates a slightly wider range of foot shapes without feeling tight. That's part of why most people find it fits true to size rather than needing to size up like some max-cushion shoes do.
The internal volume (how much room there is inside the shoe, not just length) is generous around the midfoot, which is good news if you have a higher instep or wear thicker socks.
Width Considerations
The Bondi 9 comes in standard (B/D) and wide (2E/4E) width options depending on the colorway and gender. If you're adding a custom orthotic insert on top of the Bondi 9's own footbed, you may want to remove the stock insole first rather than stacking both — the Bondi's insole has real volume of its own, and stacking two footbeds can make the shoe feel unexpectedly tight or push your foot too high in the shoe.
