About Pickleball Shoes & Gear

Pickleball is all quick side-to-side moves, sudden stops and short sprints, so running shoes, which are built for straight-ahead motion, can roll your ankle. Every shoe here is a true court shoe with lateral support, a stable low-to-the-ground platform and a durable, non-marking outsole, from ASICS GEL-Resolution, GEL-Dedicate and Solution Speed to OluKai's 'Anau pickleball shoe.

Finish the setup with OS1st performance socks to help prevent blisters and support tired arches, and an athletic insole to add cushioning and arch support inside any court shoe.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play pickleball in running shoes?

We don't recommend it. Running shoes are made for forward motion and have soft, tall midsoles that can roll on a quick lateral step. Court shoes keep you lower and more stable.

Indoor or outdoor court shoes?

Outdoor courts wear soles down fast, so look for a durable rubber outsole (ASICS GEL-Resolution and GEL-Dedicate are good picks). For indoor gyms, a non-marking gum-style sole gives the best grip.

Can I put my insoles or orthotics in court shoes?

Yes. Most court shoes have a removable insole, so you can swap in an athletic insole from Cadence, HUHV, Medical SOLES or Lynco.
