How to measure your feet at home
- Measure at the end of the day, when your feet are largest, wearing the socks you plan to wear.
- Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall and mark the tip of your longest toe.
- Measure from the wall to the mark in inches or centimeters. Measure both feet and use the larger one.
- Compare with the brand's size chart on the product page.
How a good fit should feel
- Length: about a thumb's width between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
- Width: your foot shouldn't spill over the footbed or feel pinched at the ball of the foot.
- Heel: snug, with little or no slipping as you walk.
- Arch: the arch support should meet your arch without pressing into it.

Brand sizing notes
- European sizes (Birkenstock, Naot, Alegria, Dansko, ECCO): sized in whole European sizes. If you are between sizes, most customers size down and choose a regular width.
- Dansko clogs: should feel snug at the instep with a little heel movement as you walk; that is by design.
- OOFOS: most styles use unisex (men's) sizing. Women usually order two sizes down from their usual women's size.
- Running shoes: many runners go up a half size for long distances because feet swell.

Maximum cushioning is the go-to for heel pain and tired feet — the thick midsole absorbs impact that would otherwise travel up through your plantar fascia. The removable insole means custom orthotics drop right in (thicker customs can snug up the fit, so try them together). If you're on concrete all day or ramping up mileage, this is the category most foot doctors point to first. One honest note: no shoe alone resolves plantar fasciitis — if heel pain keeps returning, get it properly evaluated.

Bondi 9 FAQ
Is the HOKA Bondi 9 good for plantar fasciitis? Its maximum cushioning is the category podiatrists most often recommend for heel pain, and the removable insole fits custom orthotics. Persistent heel pain should still be evaluated by a professional.
Does the Bondi 9 run true to size? Yes. If you have a wider forefoot, choose the 2E or 4E width rather than sizing up.
Bondi 9 vs. Clifton 11? The Bondi has more cushioning and a more stable, planted feel; the Clifton is lighter and a bit more responsive.
